About Me

I was born in Chula Vista California, but was raised in Tijuana Mexico, I proudly come from what is known as a "Barrio bajo" or low income neighborhood, where social inequality in the city took a deep impact in my mindset, which encouraged me to, fight for social justice and equality later on in my life.

Academic career:

I graduated from Chula vista High school in 2009, and attended San Diego City college. After having a family I had to turn to online learning at National University, completing my Bachelors degree in History in 2020, year significant year of the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic, which made it significantly more difficult to finish due to stress of isolation.

Prior to SDTR:

Prior to joining SDTR I worked as a paraprofessional at the Sweetwater Union High School District  in the special education department from 2016-2021.My experience as a paraprofessional ignited a desire for teaching,as being in the classroom and seeing students progress throughout  the year caused a great sense of achievement, which was an essential component to deciding to pursue an teaching career.
